We’ve already talked about the new selfie-generated stickers in the latest version of Allo, but beneath the surface there’s other hints of what’s to come perhaps in future versions of Allo. At 9to5Google, they’ve taken apart the Allo APK file to see what interesting things like within, and here’s some of what they’ve found:

  • Integration with Google Duo, allowing you to start Duo calls from conversations. Using new features, you’ll be able to tap and make a Duo call from within Allo, though it appears it will simply throw you over to the Duo app to facilitate this. The integration will include invitations to users who haven’t already signed up, and a prompt to install Duo if you haven’t already.
  • Allo will be easier for groups, offering a QR code feature to allow users to join existing groups. Think the way the Snapcode works in Snapchat and you’ve got the right idea.
  • Inviting people to groups by link; simply share the generated URL with your friends and they can easily join an existing group chat.
  • Settings for Assistant will feature in Allo as well, though perhaps just a subset of them as applicable to Allo.

Allo 11 is now rolling out in the Play Store. If still don’t have it, you can always check APKMirror if you can’t wait for some features.
