Vodafone TV isn’t the newest or greatest Google TV device, but it has to be one of my favourite streaming boxes around – it was cheap to buy, has been updated a number of times since it was released, and is still pretty popular.
While Vodafone no longer sells the box, which is a bit of a shame, it has received another software update just recently bringing it straight into looking exactly like the current crop of Google TV devices:
The update, which is still based on Android 9, brings most of the new features from Google TV to the set top box, including tabs such as discover and apps which we have seen with other Android TVs that have been updated.
Though it seems the Discover tab has been placed above the current apps that are downloaded and available on your Vodafone TV Box.
If you have a Vodafone TV box, you might want to check you have the update, all you need to do is go to settings > device settings > about > system update.
i didnt think this was a system update its just Google updated the Android TV UI
Pisses me off that this is forced upon us with no way to hide it. It’s an ad feature.
