Well what have we here.. The mysterious Telstra T-Touch Tablet technology tidbit (okay, okay that’s enough) has appeared in Harvey Norman’s latest catalogue, price tag & release date included. The T-Touch, yes let’s just call it that, will hit HV’s from Tuesday 2nd of November and will set you back $299. Included in the $299 is apparently 3gb of mobile internet which is more than enough to surf non-flash sites and update your Facebook & Twitter status’s on the go.

The T-Touch, is a Huawei IDEOS S7 in disguise, and is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, Android 2.1, 7″ 800×480 resistive display, 256MB RAM, WiFi b/g and 2MP camera(s). You’ll also be happy to note that on the image provided by Harvey Norman, it shows the Android Market located on the home screen of the T-Touch. We’re hoping this is true so we can rock some cool apps along side Telstra’s blissful bloatware. The device will also be locked to Telstra, yay. Larger, distorted, pic after the break.

You’ll get what you pay for. Android websites themselves dismiss the Huawei IDEOS S7 as “nothing to write home about”. If you only care about price, then you can get underwhelming Android tablets off eBay for around $100.

resistive…ugh! I guess telstra + low price point means no capacitive. I wouldn’t be able to handle that after using capacitive screens for so long. I suppose they wanted to get in the tablet race early… Only they probably will set a low benchmark to which almost any other option will be a better one.

Still, I suppose not terrible for the price. Any idea of internal or expandable memory buzz?

Paolo

any chance of a froyo update on this?

Col

Lol, do I detect sarcasm? I wouldn’t hold my breath, they’re over a month late for the Desire.

What is your source that it’s a resistive touch panel Buzz?
