Samsung Experience Store
Melbournians, you’ve asked for it and now it’s finally coming. As Buzz posted back in January the Samsung Experience store is having its Grand Opening this Thursday the 14th of March, at the newly developed Highpoint Shopping Centre in Melbourne. There will be a press event prior to the stores Official Opening to the public on the day, which is expected to be around 10am.

Unlike its sister store in Sydney which is within sight of the main Apple Store in town, from looking around at Google Maps, there doesn’t appear to be an actual Apple store within cooee of Samsungs Melbourne store, although there is an Apple re-seller just around the corner.

James will be attending the event and will also be getting some hands-on time with the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 which Samsung has advised will be making an appearance at the press event prior to its Australian launch. So, if you have any questions regarding the Note 8, be sure to let us know in the comments and James will endeavour to get those questions answered.

Melbournians are you excited for a Samsung store in your area? Which other cities in Australia should Samsung look at opening their stores in?

The main difference is that I can’t see Samsung stores (or Microsoft stores like in the US) becoming as big a deal as Apple stores. I’m not talking the size and extravagance or the choice of buildings, I’m just talking in general terms. People go to the Apple stores to browse at products they already own just because it’s an Apple shop.… Read more »

Hmm the rents must be cheaper in the suburban outposts or maybe Samsung can’t afford to compete on rents with all those growing upmarket curry bowl shops in Melbourne CBD. More likely it says something true about Melbourne. Myth of crappy amateur laneway culture. Cheap retail $2 shops etc. Lack of diversity etc… Find a hardware store in the CBD? Its now all downmarket. SG3 and now SG4 are great small screen smartphones. Assume the new software features like eye scroll, eye pause etc. being announced for new SG4, will also become available to the SG3? SGNote2 is brilliant. can’t… Read more »

Now to put one in the CBD 🙂 Even Melbourne CBD doesn’t have an Apple Store… Only 2 are Doncaster and Chadstone.
