Sony’s Xperia Tablet Z is one of the best Android tablets on the market – it’s fast, it’s beautiful and the screen is fantastic. And it’s about to get a whole lot better, with Sony beginning to roll out the Android 4.2.2 update to the LTE model as we speak. Xperia Blog haven’t been able to get the update to show on the Wi-Fi model yet, but it should roll out fairly soon as well.
Love it or hate it, the update comes with the new tablet UI, with the notification tray at the top of the screen and the navigation keys centred across the bottom of the display. This follows Sony’s trend of sticking fairly closely to the AOSP design in their custom ROM, but it’s definitely going to upset some people. The firmware build is 10.3.1.A.0.244, the same as that on the Xperia Z, ZL and ZR.
Try hooking your tablet up to the Sony PC Companion software update application and see if yours has come through yet.
Have you got the update yet? Wi-Fi or LTE model? What do you think of the UI changes? Let us know in the comments.

Full FTF.. This will wipe your device.. I just upgraded mine..
No update on my LTE Z yet, as usual Australia must be last on the list of countries to receive the update.
Not available on my wifi only tablet just yet.
Hoping it fixes the wallpaper refresh issue mine has when going back to the home screen though!
No update for me yet….have the lte version but nothing coming through tonight
I’ll update tonight! Hopefully this will stop what I call the “Ghost Takeover”.. randomly my tablet has a mind of it’s own and just starts doing things by itself like open apps, go to settings menus, open notifications, start playing videos all of a sudden
