Huawei 2
Huawei is rumoured to be launching two new phones this month, the Huawei P8 and the P8 Lite. Pictures and specs of the phones have been turning up in small doses in the lead-up, tantalising the general public with a hot looking pair of handsets. Now we’ve gotten hold of some press renders for the phones and they do indeed look hot.

The renders show the phones looking quite svelte, with a refined profile that will look classy anywhere. The P8 will be slightly larger than the P8 Lite, with a 5.2″ FullHD display, while the P8 Lite will be more compact with a 5″ 720P display. Both phones appear to have a SIM slot, as well as microSD card slot on the right hand side.

The P8 and P8 Lite are also looking fairly high-end when it comes to specs. Both the P8 and P8 Lite will be powered by in-house silicon from Huawei, with the P8 using the Quad-Core HiSilicon Kirin 930 processor with 3GB of RAM, while the P8 Lite will use a 1.2GHz Kirin 620 processor with 2GB of RAM. The P8 Lite will carry 16GB of on-board storage while the P8 will have 32GB of storage, but both phones look to have a microSD card to expand storage if necessary.

Both the P8 and P8 Lite are looking to come with decent camera setups on board, with the P8 coming with a 13MP rear camera and 8MP sensor on the front. The P8 Lite is apparently going to come with a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front-facing camera.

The software on the Huawei phones – Emotion UI, or EMUI is usually quite a departure from stock Android on the launcher side of things, but from the look of the P8 render, there will be a range of custom widgets, as well as what appears to be a theme centre included.

The rumours go that the phones will be announced in London on the 15th of April, so we’ll know more about availability and exact specifications when they arrive.
