Following the success of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge earlier this year, there wasn’t really much surprise when at the Samsung Unpacked event the company took the wraps off the well-rumoured Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Note 5. There has been a lot of hype around the upcoming devices; the release dates, pricing and carrier plans have been announced by Optus and Vodafone and now the media campaign train comes to town.

Proving that they are smart in business, not just manufacturers of quality handsets there shouldn’t be any surprise that Samsung are continuing their marketing push for these new handsets, particularly the Note 5. While they are guilty of having produced the most annoying advert in telecommunications history, they continue to invest in marketing which brings the sales.

Who do you believe is the best smartphone manufacture at marketing their product?

  1. Who is the best smartphone manufacturer at marketing their product? Is that even a question? Is there any other answer other than Apple?

When they take 90% if the profits that smartphones make, I think it’d be hard to argue any other company markets their devices better.

And some interesting statements in the article here; claiming the S6/6Edge were successful and that they’re smart in business. Based off Samsung’s quarterly report, I’d argue that the Galaxy S6 wasn’t a success. At least not for Samsung who saw it’s fifth straight quarterly profit drop. Samsung claim it’s because they couldn’t ship out enough Galaxy Edges to meet demand. So what I expect is for Samsung to make monstrous profits in their next quarter by all these supposed Edge orders being filled. I don’t see it happening, but hey, let’s see what Samsung come out with in the next earnings report.

I don’t believe the S6 sold as well as the S5 or S4. Reason being, Samsung last year and the year before, Samsung were happy to announce 10 or 11 million sales in the first month….no such announcement for the S6. Why is that? Their profits still dropped to a 3 year low, so how is the S6/6 Edge a success for them?

Seems to me that it simply isn’t enough. The market doesn’t seem to care enough about them.
