When a Redditor took to the popular site to seek (what he thought was) technical assistance for his wife’s fitbit, a clued in commenter got him thinking about his future. His post queried if there was potentially a sensor issue as his wife’s heart rate was consistently high over the past few days, putting her in the “fat burning” zone but the calories burned did not correlate to this range.

When another Reddit user asked

Has she experienced anything really stressful in the last few days or is it a possibility she is pregnant?

the wheels started turning and sure enough, after the obvious tests were completed by the couple he announced to those who checked out his post that his wife is indeed pregnant. It seems after this unusual way to discover the pregnancy they have had a bit of a whirlwind including radio interviews and continued queries from online sources.

They’ve got an exciting time ahead and I sincerely wish them the best of luck

What’s the strangest discovery you have made with the aid of technology?

My 14yr old daughter’s phone recently started receiving ads for baby clothes, prams, and stretch marks lotions. A department store even sent her a personalized brochure for baby toys on our letter box. It turns out she’s pregnant .
