OPPO have already released their flagship for the start of the year but not willing to rest there they are re-introducing the Find X in Paris on June 19 (June 20 AEST). The Find X is promising to be an innovative phone and today OPPO have revealed some more information about what to expect in the Find X.

Following their mission statement for the Find series of “pushing the boundaries” OPPO are introducing 5 times digital zoom to the world after first announcing it at MWC 2017. The “5x Dual Camera Zoom” uses a wide-angle lens and a telephoto lens to create the 5 times zoom. The telephoto lens is housed within a “periscope-style” structure where the lens has enough space for the movement required for such zoom. OPPO say that:

periscope-style prism then directs the light into the camera by 90 degrees and sends the image through the telephoto lens when the user zooms in.

Using the periscope-style structure allows the camera to use up less space while offering more zoom. The 5x dual camera module is 5.7mm thin, which is in itself even thinner than a traditional 2x optical zoom module.

Definitely different and innovative and if it works well it may be ground breaking. OPPO will also be including their Super VOOC flash charging which allows you to fully charge a 2500mAh battery within just 15 minutes. While that is confirmed from OPPO, rumours have it that OPPO are using a curved 2K 6.42 inch Samsung AMOLED display along with a Snapdragon 845, 8GB RAM, 256GB of onboard storage and a 4000mAh battery.

We are also expecting (and hoping for) an entirely bezel-less phone (OPPO have already done the notch so you would assume the Find X will be the next evolution in display). The Android/smartphone world has been crying out for some true innovation — this could well be it. All will be clear in just a week or so when OPPO unveil the Find X in Paris on June 19th.

Their hardware has been great for a while now, shame about the rest.

I’m really intrigued by this phone as the Find 7 seemed like a great device. It should be much easier to buy in Australia than the Oneplus 6 too
