We already know that Huawei will be having a launch event for the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro in Paris at the end of the month. Many details of the devices have already leaked, and we’ve already seem some in the wild shots as well.

Huawei’s latest flagship is shaping up to be everything you’d expect, top of the run Kirin 980 processor, plenty of RAM, storage, screen real estate, a notch, no headphone jack etc. It’s going to be the best of everything Huawei can throw at it. Something we weren’t expecting was it to have a “flat top and bottom”.

According to today leaded images Huawei’s latest devices will have a flat top and bottom edge allowing the devices to be stood horizontally Space Odyssey obelisk style.

We’re not 100% sure why you’d want to do this, perhaps it’s for an accessory? Because considered how tall and thin this phone will be you’d be mad to actually stand it up on a desk (or anything else) for fear it’d fall over (or off) and break / scratch the screen or rear.

It’s only a few weeks until the big Paris reveal, so we’ll know soon enough what Huawei has done, and more importantly, why.

Not a phone you’d want set to vibrate then when standing up!
