With the Google IO Keynote over for another year, we’re a little excited to see hardware announcements make their way back onto the big stage at Shoreline. At today’s event Google announced their well rumored (leaked) Pixel 3a and 3a XL and their Google Nest Hub Max.

For those of us in Australia it can often be a long wait until we ever see the ability to order, let alone have devices after they launch — today things are a little different. You can order a Pixel 3a or 3a XL along with the official Google case today for delivery within 2 – 3 weeks.

At $649 for the Pixel 3a and $799 for the Pixel 3a XL, Google may have just set the benchmark for the upper middle tier of devices. We’re expecting the camera in the Pixel 3a range to do great things, you can check out Scott’s hands on right here. The official Pixel cases are some of the best options on the market and you can add one for $59.

The second major piece of hardware was the Google Nest Hub Max. The 10-inch Nest camera-equipped Google Smart Display is coming to Australia at launch. The Hub Max is slated to launch in Winter (there’s a Game of Thrones pun here I know it) this year so you can pre-register on the Google Store to be one of the first to grab the device.

At $349 the Google Nest Hub Max is one of the more expensive Google Smart Displays, however with a built in Nest Indoor Cam, wide angle room tracking for video calls and stereo speakers it’s also one of the most fully featured variants. I for one would love to get some hands on time with it.

If you are taken by some of the offerings announced today and want to be one of the first to get them into your hands, head on over to the Google Store and check them out.
