So it seems that Apple and Google can play nice together at times after all with Apple Music now available on Assistant devices in some countries. For now, Apple Music can be used in the USA, UK, France, Germany and Japan on any Assistant-enabled speaker. Those are some big potential markets making them a great testing field.
If you’re in one of those areas, once you’ve connected your Apple Music account to Assistant it’s a simple voice trigger like any other service. Albums, playlists, or any other individual songs that you desire can be played providing it is part of the over 70 million songs in the Apple Music library.
Whether Apple Music on Assistant devices will extend further is unknown at this time, but it seems likely given the large test-bed. Is the availability of Apple Music on Assistant devices something that would entice you to try the service, or even get onboard with Assistant-powered smart speakers?
