A new leak from a few days ago seems to show the upcoming Huawei P50 prototype with an odd camera design.
The circular camera island hearkens back to the Mate 30, but with the outer ring seemingly pouring off the curved edge, it looks a bit more like Dali’s melting clocks.
Four lenses are shown with a flash below the camera array. On the front is a dual-camera cutout. On the side is a contrasting colour button, but no rocker switch in sight.
This isn’t the first P50 leak we’ve seen; a P50 Pro Plus render made its way to Twitter just a few weeks ago with a very different looking camera setup – however this leak could be the base model P50. Like all leaks, this one should be taken with a generous pinch of salt.
Huawei’s smartphone business seems to be on its last legs, but it’s not going out without a fight. Upcoming smartphones will ship with a custom operating system called HarmonyOS, but it remains to be seen how sales will perform with Android-free devices.
