The Eufy Floodlight Cam 2 Pro is now available in Australia offering a unique feature set of 360 degree pan and tilt camera, tuneable 3000 lumen LED array, AI-powered human detection and auto-tracking, no subscription fees and 8GB onboard storage.

Eufy (an Anker sub-division) doesn’t have huge brand recognition in Australia yet but they are a big player in the USA in the field of smart home devices.

I recently became familiar with them and the Eufy Security app used to manage all their camera products, after purchasing a Eufy Video Doorbell 2K Wireless with Homebase 2 (review coming soon).

The Floodlight Cam 2 Pro can in theory be set to turn lights on and off at sunset and sunrise automatically based on your home location.

Compatible with the Google Voice Assistant and Alexa, the Floodlight is fitted with 3 LED light panels which can be adjusted and positioned independently for maximum coverage and produce brightness of up to 3,000 lumens.

If you don’t like cold blue light you have the option to adjust the colour temperature from warm to cool (3,000 to 5,700 degrees).

The Floodlight Cam 2 Pro also features a 2K resolution with full colour night vision, is IP65 rated weatherproof and has a optional 100-decibel alarm.

Points to Consider

Installation requires either existing 240V outdoor wiring into a junction box or paying an electrician to install these on the external wall mount/ceiling where you wish to mount the device.

There is no ability to expand onboard storage with a microSD card or send footage to a Eufy Homebase 2 (if you have one already). However the Floodlight Cam 2 Pro does support NAS/RTSP so you can store footage to your network storage device if you own one.

Eufy public relations say that at the moment they don’t have plans to beta test vehicle detection.
