We recently saw the Lenovo IdeaPad B6000 -F and B8000-F released in Germany. These are a new form from Lenovo, in that they have a two stage flip out back cover. Well they haven’t stopped experimenting as we now have the IdeaPad A10.
The A10 looks like a netbook from days gone by. Lenovo calls it a notebook in their User Guide, but we consider it a netbook because of the 10″ screen. It opens in a traditional netbook/notebook way to display a small keyboard that is permanently attached – unlike other Android tablets that come with a keyboard dock – such as the HP Slatebook X2.
Where the IdeaPad A10 shuns netbook tradition is that the screen keeps on opening until it hyper-extends itself, the keyboard is then facing flat on the desk and the display is angled towards the user in what Lenovo call Stand Mode (Theatre Mode). The IdeaPad A10 runs Android 4.2. Other specifications are:

As with the two other IdeaPads that surfaced a few days ago, the A10 is being sold in Germany for 249 Euros ($350) at the moment, but we are hoping for a wider release soon.

I can’t understand the use case for this. No benefit of a lighter more portable android tablet. No benefit in software from a traditional laptop in terms of software I.e. Office and other productivity tools. What problem does this fix?

I guess in this way, the screen won’t be the most heaviest part, making it feel normally weighted? 😮
That’s one of the benefits I see if that’s how this was made.
