Overnight we’ve seen the launch of some new gear from Samsung, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. It really shouldn’t be a surprise that the carriers have joined in the fun with Samsung’s latest foldable devices.

As a brand new device, none of the carriers have any particular special on the new release devices. Outright pricing and colour options are consistent across the big three.

  • Galaxy Z Fold 3: Available in Phantom Black, Phantom Green or Phantom silver with 256GB – $2,499.00 or 512GB – $2,649.00
  • Galaxy Z Flip 3: Available in Phantom Black, Cream, Green or Violet with 128GB – $1,499.00 or 256GB – $1,599.00

Telstra – With bonus TV

Pre-orders have already started at Telstra, whether you choose to do so in-store or online. The devices are available through the full range of colours and storage options:

Where Telstra has a leg up is the Samsung 43″ AU8000 4K Smart TV (worth $949.00) you get as a bonus with purchase via redemption. You also get the option to choose added goodies with your device from Telstra services to Samsung’s last generation of Buds (Pro or Live for the Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 respectively). Should you find a better price/deal, Telstra is also offering a 7 day price match for the early adopters.

Vodafone – Offering trade in options to make your new phone more affordable

If you’ve got a device — previously sold by Vodafone — that’s in good working order, you could save yourself a small stack of cash by trading it in. If you’re new to the Vodafone network and wanting 5G, it’s important to note that their 5G footprint isn’t huge right now, but it is improving.

Vodafone too, dependent on the specific phone you purchase, has a Samsung accessories bundle to offer:

  • Z Fold 3 Options: Galaxy Buds Pro or Productivity Pack (Stand, Keyboard and S Pen Pro) or Power Pack (Wireless Charger, Flip Cover and S Pen)
  • Z Flip 3 Options: Galaxy Buds Life or Power Pack (Wireless Charger, Flip Cover and S Pen)

Optus – A free smart watch on offer

The Optus offering with the new foldable phones from Samsung is the new Samsung smartwatch – specifically, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 (RRP$549.00).

With the same value bundles offered with the purchase of devices and repayment options ranging from 12 – 36 months, that new phone could be in your reach now.

The first generation was interesting, the second great development. Now we’re onto the third generation of foldable devices, we’re getting into the region where I’ll seriously consider spending money on one as my own regular use device. Will you be considering a foldable device, or are you waiting for other factors before committing?

Don’t bribe me with toys, just reduce the price by that amount..

The Watch 4 from the Optus deal isn’t “last generation” – it was announced last night and literally the first device to come with WearOS 3.

Yeah I reckon Phil needs a better editor or needs to do more “reading up on US Android news” 🙂
