The Android 5.1 rollout has been fairly protracted, a number of Nexus phones still haven’t received their update, but Google has upped the ante today releasing yet another build for the Nexus 5 and Nexus 6.
The new build – LMY47I is the latest build and factory images are now available on the Google Developers site, the LMY47I Over The Air (OTA) update for the Nexus 6 has so far been captured (and linked to on our OTA update page), but so far the OTA update for the Nexus 5 hasn’t been seen.
What is actually in the update isn’t certain, but a rumour that the update was specifically for Australian handsets seems to have been quashed with this new image. Google previously labelled an update for the Nexus 5 as an AU specific release (as well as for NZ and Indian customers) when they released the KTU84Q KitKat update last year.
If you have the Nexus 5 or Nexus 6 and want to flash the update, head over to the Google Developers Factory Images page and grab the update now.
Hoping this fixes the mobile data switching issues my N5 acquired with 5.1
I am running the 5.1(LMY47D) on my nexus 5 along with the radio image with no issues(telstra pre-paid) so i see no need to flash if it is something like a rasio update.
b.b.b.buuutttt where is mako
Gah again! So much flashing. I’m going to need a beige overcoat soon.
That said, 5.1 has revived my N5, so I’m happy with the improvements over previous LP versions!
That image has been out for a couple of days, I’ve been running it on my Nexus 6 for about three days now. It was a bitch to flash on though :/
