Since launching the video component of their photo sharing service back in 2013, Instagram users have been limited to 15-seconds of video. Instagram has today announced that this is changing soon, with videos up to 60 seconds in length coming to your stream.
Instagram has noted a big increase in the amount of videos being watched in the last 6 months, up to 40% more in most cases and has decided to allow longer videos. Instagram said:
We want to bring you fun, flexible and creative ways to create and watch video on Instagram. As part of our continued commitment, you’ll soon have the flexibility to tell your story in up to 60 seconds of video. This is one step of many you’ll see this year.
The update will be coming in the next few months, so keep an eye out for that update.
