In an early holiday gift to all, Vodafone is doubling the data on its $30 Prepaid Cap to 1GB. As well as the extra 500MB of data, the plan still includes $450 of flexible call credit and infinite SMS.
This is available to prepaid customers from now, and the cut-off for the last activation to receive the double data offer is 31 January 2014.
Chief Marketing Officer, Kim Clarke said:
“By doubling the data from 500MB to 1GB we hope our prepaid customers will double the amount of fun they have with their mobile. With the arrival of the holiday season we know our customers love to surf the web, Instagram Christmas party pictures or WhatsApp with friends more so now than at any other time of the year”

What do I think of their “generous” offer? I think it’s completely absurd to call it that. They should be raising it permanently, and doing so regularly. We’ve got faster phones with better connectivity, demanding more and more data. All the carriers have been lowering the data they offer for a given price, and Ausdroid should be lambasting them for it, not praising them for tiny morsels they toss out in appeasement.
Is this only for one month? The next month will be back to 500mb right?
It applies if you activate before 31 January 2014, so potentially double data for 3 months.
