Here you go folks, a comparison of the $59 (or close to) plans from each of the carriers selling the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. As usual it’s the VHA carriers getting most of the green with Telstra sitting on 1 good cell — they do have the best network though. Let us know what you think of each of the carriers in the comments, I’ll be chilling there for a while.

can you throw up a comparison of the $79 range that would also be nice to compare 🙂

unfunk Freeman

where’s the Virgin Mobile entry, Buzz?

David

Loving my Nexus with Telstra. More than happy to pay an extra $5 for excellent data speeds and top coverage.

Coming from Optus on the Galaxy S, it really is worth every dollar.

random

just got mine on the $79 telstra cap, so stoked with it so far! Upgraded from iPhone 3GS..so much better!

i just had a play with this in a Telstra shop, it is freaking HUGE! How do u guys that have one find it for size? I don’t think it’ll fit in my pocket, its putting me off it.
Oleophobic screen sounds awesome though. And the UI is very pretty. Maybe I could reconsider..?

Buzz Moody

Well we found out the Galaxy Note fits in everyone pockets at the Ausdroid Meetup, so the Galaxy Nexus will certainly fit in.

Anonymous

Well you must have some very large pockets my friend!

Buzz Moody

Not really, it’s not that big.

patogrande

Fits easily in my pocket. It’s also fairly thin and light so I can barely notice it.

Still unsure which has the best plan and best coverage without problems , Unsure with vodafone if they have actually upgrade their service to 850 , if i upgrade to vodafone not worth it at all

Lemon

Another thing I haven’t really read in reviews – the oleophobic screen (oil resistant) is frickin AMAZING. I’ve had it for 2 weeks and haven’t wiped the screen ONCE. It’s a revelation.

GNex battery is good. Better than my old HTC Desire HD, and better than EVO 3D. I can get from 7am to 7pm happily with fairly heavy usage. End of the night with moderate usage.

Buzz Moody

Yeah that’s about the same as my Galaxy S II. Wish it was a bit longer though.

Ofazza

I know how big a fan you are of the Atrix Buzz, but do you have any idea how well the Galaxy Nexus battery compares. The Atrix had a massive battery and I still ended up needing a spare to get thru a day without charge. I imagine the battery life in general would be better with ICS and surely the Galaxy Nexus would be an even further improvement?

Buzz Moody

I haven’t used a Galaxy Nexus for an extended period of time, but Matty should have covered this in his review that is going up pin the next day or so.

Hulkamaphone

Great to see so many Aus carriers picking up this phone. I thought Virgin were offering it on their network too?

Level380

Contract terms??? Guessing these are all 2 years?

Buzz Moody

Yeah, 2 years by default.

Level380

Sad…. I would signup for one if it was 12 months! 2 yrs is too long to be locked into a overpriced plan!

Ltp

Voda has a 1 year contract (only one i saw).
I bought mine on a 1 year 49/25 plan.

Level380

Oh you are correct!! Voda has 12 month plans, total cost is $888, includes $550 calls and 1.5GB of data. Only slightly more than buying it outright!

John Chung 哥

But which is still worth ? i cant make up my mind or else i buy from kogan

Level380

Kogan is $808 inc delivery for the Nexus….. Voda is $888, which includes 12 months network access, giving you 1.5GB of data and $550 of calls each month.

So basically Voda is $80 more than Kogan, If you have the use for another sim that you can use in a tablet or phone etc, it might be better ‘value’ getting it on voda than outright, $80 for 12 months of 1.5GB of data a month is good value for a 3g tablet.

Telstra have the best network but Crazy Johns have the best plans! If you have a few mobiles in the family, the Shared/Family plans are amazing value (especially if  you have someone like me in the mix that rarely makes calls outside the family and uses their phone like a mini computer)!!!

Geoff

Virgin? Or is their deal the same as Optus?
