The death knell for Google+ is far from ringing, with a new update rolling out to the Android app today, bringing a few well timed and useful updates. The updates take into account the great community functions that Google+ has which Google’s VP of Streams, Bradly Horowitz spoke about in July.

The update to the Android app brings the usual non-descriptive “performance improvements and bug fixes” along with a new design for G+ Communities (Join the Ausdroid Community), improved navigation for screen reader users and perhaps most interesting to some users; the ability to pin posts into collections “pinterest” style.

Its really nice to see Google continue to show their commitment to updating their own apps and platforms, responding to user requests and needs in the evolving Android space. The update is available through Google Play now for anyone wanting to update.
