Google Maps has long been one of Google’s most popular and useful services, with a steady pace of development and new features rolling out. Today at Google IO 2022 Google unveiled ‘Immersive view’.

By combining billions of images from Street View and aerial images using AI-powered compute vision Google Maps can now display a fully immersive 3D view of select cities. For supported cities, immersive maps include vibrant 2D images of landmarks, restaurants and other points of interest.

Available on any device you find Google Maps immersive view is rolling out to Los Angeles, London, New York, San Francisco and Tokyo later this year with more cities coming soon
