Android L
This morning, Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 owners currently playing around with the Android L preview launched at Google I/O, were greeted by the happy news that there were newly updated images available to download from the Android Developers preview page. With a raft of issues and feature requests from the Android Developer Preview issues tracker marked as closed with an entry of ‘Will appear in the next build’ or similar, you’d be forgiven for thinking some new goodies await, not so.

Jamal Eason, Product Manager at Google has advised via Google+ that the only updates appearing in the update which takes the Developer Preview from LPV79 to version LPV81C, merely includes the updated Google Play Services APK which allows developers to work on the Google Fit SDK, which Google released to developers last night.

When questioned about whether the update includes fixes which have been closed as issues in the issues tracker, Jamal said ‘No, this version does not include the fixes that we closed on the internal version’.

So, that’s that. It’s simply the Google Fit SDK version of Google Play Services – Good to know.

Are you using the Android L Preview on your Nexus 5 or Nexus 7? Found any issues?
