It’s about time…
We saw the first glimpses of a dark theme in November but now Whatsapp has finally delivered a dark mode option to beta users of the app. Undoubtedly, the full release candidate will be next.
The beta will be the final test before Whatsapp catches up to the vast majority of other messaging apps already rocking dark mode.
If you’re on the Beta head to settings –> Chats –> Themes –> Enable Dark theme.
IF you’re not super keen on going through the process of joining the beta, you can just download the apk. Be aware though that you will have to avoid updating as this will put your app back to the latest stable version sans dark-mode.
It can’t be far away for stable release now and when it drops we’ll be ready for it.
Just tried it. Don’t really like it much.
