I’ve made little secret of the fact that I think Huawei’s Watch 2 (or HW2) is one of the best examples of the Android Wear to date, and it really shows that this isn’t Huawei’s first rodeo. The original Huawei Watch was a real cracker, and in my review, despite a few misgivings about the small screen and my dislike of the clip-on charger, I said the HW2 was definitely a hot favourite.

This was, of course, before I saw it in orange. You see, I knew that orange was a colour option, but getting my hands on one was kind of like unobtainium. I saw the orange style in Barcelona, but when it came to getting hands-on with a pre-production model, it came in black. Even the sneaky retail model I wore for months… that only came in black too.

However, today I received a bit of a surprise. You see, the orange Huawei Watch 2 just arrived with little prior warning, and it’s beautiful.  As you can see, above, that bright orange colour stands out more than a little, and it’s going to make a statement on anyone’s wrists.

Those of you who enjoy a little Top Gear (or Grand Tour these days) will know that Richard Hammond has a penchant for bright watches, and now — with one on my wrist — I know why. It makes such a statement, and when it’s already a fine watch underneath, that orange colour just makes it so much better.

So, if you weren’t minded to consider a Huawei Watch 2, would the bright orange colour change your mind? We know — it isn’t the cheapest Android Wear device around — but it is arguably one of the best you can get at the moment.

At this stage, Huawei’s Watch 2 is available (in black) from Vodafone and we’ve got the details here.

Would you like an orange Huawei Watch 2? Would it make a difference in your decision?

Was burnt by the Moto 360, poor battery life and then after 14 months the battery died. Yep pointless waste of money smart watches.

Wayno

I think you may just have been unlucky. My Moto is still going strong after 2.5 years and still easily gets 24hrs battery. In fact I have passed up on replacing the Moto because I haven’t seen another smart watch that looks as good. The new Huawei certainly rocks in terms of spec but I’m a bit torn on the look.

Maybe if it came in Green
