Google Ubiquity

Google has continued their trend of breaking out developer engagement and detailed education from Google IO with their Dev Summit model. The latest edition to the Dev Summit family is the Ubiquity Dev Summit focusing on what Google seems be be calling Ubiquitous Computing, or as it’s more commonly known the Internet of Things (IoT).

The Dev Summit started today, 4am AEST, with a live-streamed keynote address. If you’re interested in Google’s vision for the future of the IoT, the 50 min keynote is worth a watch. The highlights include Google’s aspiration to create an interoperable, secure, private and simple platform, based of course of their open source technology, on which to build the growing IoT. Other topics covered include Brillo, Weave, TensorFlow machine learning and the Eddystone beacon platform.
